Jandy pool error codes
These meanings come from Jandy's JXi heater manual and FloPro VS pump manual. Other Jandy models can differ, so check your manual.
JXi heater messages
| Message | What it means |
|---|---|
| CHECK FLOW | Pump not running, low pump pressure, a pressure switch fault, or a variable-speed pump set too low. |
| FAULT - HIGH LIMIT | Water in the heater is over its internal limit, or a limit switch fault. |
| FAULT - HIGH FLUE TEMPERATURE | Flue temperature limit fault. Jandy says to contact a service professional. |
| FAULT - CHECK IGN CONTROL | Air pressure switch tubing, fan, blocked air, igniter, low gas supply or no flame at the burner. |
| SHORTED H2O SENSOR / OPEN WATER SENSOR | Wiring, connection or a failed water temperature sensor. |
| FAULT - PUMP | Normal in Maintain Temp mode when the filter pump is off. No service needed. |
JXi ignition control LED
| LED | What it means |
|---|---|
| On steady | Ignition control fault. Call qualified service. |
| 1 flash | Air flow fault. |
| 2 flashes | Flame present with no call for heat. Call qualified service. |
| 3 flashes | Ignition lockout after 3 failed attempts (soft lockout). |
FloPro VS pump won't start or respond
Jandy's pump manual lists: no power (the LED on top of the drive should be lit), low-voltage wiring between pump and controller, DIP switches set wrong for the controller, or a fault message on the controller. It also says voltage at the motor should be within 10% of its rating, checked by a qualified tech or electrician.
What you can safely do
- For CHECK FLOW: clean the filter and baskets, open the valves, check the pump speed, and make sure the return eyeball fittings are in place (Jandy lists this).
- For ignition, flue, high-limit and sensor faults: gas and combustion parts. Call a qualified tech.
Common questions
What does CHECK FLOW mean on a Jandy heater?
The heater isn't seeing enough water pressure: the pump is off or set too low, the filter or a valve is restricting flow, or the pressure switch has a fault. Check the pump, filter, baskets and valves first.
What do the flashing lights on a Jandy JXi ignition control mean?
One flash is an air flow fault, two flashes means flame with no call for heat, three flashes means ignition lockout after three failed tries, and a steady light is an ignition control fault.
Is FAULT - PUMP on a Jandy heater a problem?
Not by itself. Jandy says it's a normal status message in Maintain Temp mode when the filter pump is off.
